Tomb of Userhat (TT 56)
Ornamental 'chevaux de frise' on tops of walls (cf. O11) (sometimes written horizontally)
18th DynastyNew Kingdom
Sheikh Abd el-Qurna, Thebes
The sign represents the Kheker frieze, a series of reed or plant stems tied together at the tops and gathered in again close above the base, below which they spread out once more. Another suggestion is that it represents the fringe or tassel of a carpet or mat, the roundel above the base being a knot.
The stem in the middle of the sign is green, the rope(?) tying it together is yellow with a red outline.
